In honor of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day on January 9th, East Coast Metal Systems highlighted one of their several law enforcement projects.

Utilizing our EC-200 Dry Joint Rainscreen System, ECMS fabricated over 8,000 square feet of metal composite material (MCM) for this police headquarters located in Oklahoma City, OK. With both interior and exterior panels, the architect ADG did a great job of adding a modern aesthetic to a building that houses an institution dating back to the mid-1800s. This project was completed a few years ago and is still one of our favorite projects to showcase!

Did you know that last year it was estimated that approximately 550,000 youth and young adults under the age of 23 experienced homelessness for longer than a week? More than half of those individuals were under the age of 18. 50% of homeless youth are unsheltered, either sleeping outside or in a place not meant for human occupancy.

This year on Giving Tuesday, which was December 1st, ECMS  supported our local Youth Services System by participating in their annual Sleep Out and raising awareness for an issue that greatly affects our society. In participating in this great community event, Diane Trifonoff and Tiffany Wildern worked together to build a shelter out of cardboard that can be livable. Our theme was “Providing A Roof For The Youth” because so often we forget that something like a roof is a luxury for many of us.

ECMS understands specifications and the time it takes to put together a project manual. To ease this task, they have created their own specifications for each of their tested systems that are based off the Metal Construction Association’s (MCA) Master Specification.

To take it one step further, East Coast Metal Systems can now be found on BSD SpecLink! This specification software allows architects and spec writers to create specs up to 70% faster. We are excited for this development and hope that it can help our friends in the spec writing world!

Today, we celebrate National Women’s Equality Day and the 1920 adoption of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution that gave women the right to vote. Women have made such a positive impact on our society and even more so, our industry.

We would like to thank all women, with a special shoutout to the women in the construction industry. With only 9% of the construction industry being female, we encourage all women to learn about all the opportunities our industry has to offer from trade positions to CEO. Equal opportunity is part of the foundation of our company. We are here to empower women and all employees and encourage productivity and economic growth.

On June 25th, East Coast Metal Systems hosted REPS of Ohio for a training session at our facility in Triadelphia, WV. It’s always great to catch up with the team and figure out how we can work together to achieve the best results!
