The Metal Construction Association (MCA) awarded its Chairman’s Award in the education (primary and secondary) category to a member company that contributed to the creation of Northridge Local Schools in Dayton, Ohio. Winners were announced February 3, 2021, at MCA’s Winter Meeting. East Coast Metal Systems provided Secure-Scan 3D Laser Scanning services and fabricated 243 metal composite panels for this project.

This is a very distinct project because of the Iceberg feature that goes along with their mascot, a polar bear! Northridge Local Schools will always be one of our favorite projects to watch come to life!

John Trifonoff spoke at the 2021 MCA Winter Meeting representing the MCM Alliance. John is the chair for the MCM Alliance Marketing Committee and he touched on several topics including new members, the alliance’s microsite traffic and the goals for the upcoming year. He and the alliance also recognized and thanked long time MCM Alliance Director Jeff Irwin who will no longer be overseeing the alliance. John, the MCM Alliance and the MCA as a whole look forward to the upcoming year and all the goals they have set!

ECMS is participating in the Ohio County Schools Backpack program and has the privilege of sponsoring Bridge Street Middle School in Wheeling, WV. This means they are providing meals for roughly 20 students who are eligible for the food assistance program through the county that would possibly go home to no food on the weekend. They provided a breakfast, lunch, and dinner as well as snacks for both days of the weekend.

We are so proud of them for coordinating this and for lending a helping a hand to those in the Wheeling community!

On Friday, February 5th, people across the country wore red to spread awareness for women’s heart disease and risk of stroke. National Wear Red Day is supported by the American Heart Association and National Heart Health Month.
